A decade of “learn and earn,” from CodersTrust to Learnio.
CodersTrust Bangladesh, Dhaka — where it beganLearnio’s roots go back to CodersTrust, founded in 2014 with a conviction that was unusual at the time: that affordable, mentored, online education could connect young people in emerging markets directly to the global digital economy.
From its earliest days, CodersTrust built around a “learn and earn” model — pairing practical digital skills with one-to-one mentorship so that students didn’t just finish a course, they started a career. Over the following years that model spread across Europe, Asia, and Africa, reaching thousands of learners and proving that talent is everywhere, even when opportunity isn’t.
In December 2021, the organization restructured to sharpen its focus. The global training arm was rebranded as Learnio, free to concentrate fully on one thing: scaling skills-to-income programs for the young people who need them most.
The name changed. The mission didn’t.

The first pilot program launches in Bangladesh.
Partnership with the Government of Bhutan to train Bhutanese youth in digital skills.
Partnership with UNDP to create youth employment through skill development.
The Women in Online Work project launches with the World Bank in Kosovo.
Programs roll out across Palestine and Iraq.
The online academy is rebuilt and revamped, end to end.
A pilot project launches with SOS Children’s Villages in Benin.
CodersTrust rebrands to Learnio, and launches Digital Jobs Albania in collaboration with the World Bank.
A landmark 21-country deal with SOS Children’s Villages scales the Benin pilot across West, Central and North Africa. A new program begins with the Government of Bhutan, and the IT Academy launches in rural Nepal with the Human Practice Foundation — connecting local youth to digital jobs worldwide.
Learnio Albania and Learnio Kosovo launch.
The SOS Children’s Villages, Nepal and Bhutan programs all expand.
The entire course catalogue is modernized to include vital AI skills training.
