Learnio is a Norwegian organisation that delivers digital-skills training — web development, digital marketing, graphic design and more — to people in underserved communities. We have been running programs since 2014 and today work across 17 countries, turning training into real, paid work for our graduates.

Across 17 countries spanning the Balkans, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East — including Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Nepal, Bhutan, Zimbabwe and Benin. We work through local partners in each country, combining online learning with in-campus mentored classes.

We started in 2014 as CodersTrust, focused on getting people in emerging markets into digital work. In December 2021 we rebranded to Learnio. The name changed; the mission did not.

Through partnerships. Organisations like the World Bank and SOS Children’s Villages, foundations, and corporate partners fund cohorts; we deliver the training and support, and measure the results. Participants do not pay.

Our core programs are Web Development, Digital Marketing and Graphic Design. Alongside those we run supporting, foundation and language courses — 16 courses across four categories in total — that help learners become job-ready.

No. Our programs are built for beginners. What matters is commitment — showing up, doing the work and engaging with your mentor. We start from the fundamentals and build toward portfolio-ready, job-relevant skills.

Our programs are hybrid. You work through a guided curriculum online and attend in-campus mentored classes run with our local partner — three times a week, two hours per class — so the learning is hands-on, not just self-study.

For participants in our funded programs, training is free — there is no tuition. Cohorts are funded by our partners rather than by the learners who take them.

Every learner is backed by mentors who review your work and a student-support team that helps you stay on track. The goal is not just to finish a course — it is to come out employable.

Current programs include SheGoesDigital (free digital-marketing training for women from Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia); Digital Entrepreneurship Training in Nepal, run with WorldLink and Learnable; the IT Academy in Nepal; programs across several African countries with SOS Children’s Villages; and multiple programs with different partners in South Africa. Availability changes by country and over time, so check current intakes at learnio.eu.

It depends on the program. Some are open to a whole country or region; others focus on a specific group, such as women entering the digital economy. Each program page lists its own eligibility criteria.

Applications open per cohort. Go to learnio.eu, find the program that fits you, and follow the apply steps there. If a cohort is full, you can register interest for the next one.

Our clearest proof point is Digital Jobs Albania: a $150,000 World Bank investment that helped 500 young Albanian women earn $3.2 million in income — a 20× return. Across all our programs, graduates have collectively earned hundreds of millions of dollars.

We track real outcomes — graduation, employment and income earned — not just enrolments. That is what lets a funder see a return like the 20× on Digital Jobs Albania, and it is how we report back to every partner.

We work with institutions, foundations and delivery partners including the World Bank, SOS Children’s Villages, AfrikaTikkun, the Human Practice Foundation, WorldLink and Learnable, alongside local partners in the countries where we operate.
