Learnio worked with the Norwegian Afghanistan Committee on a deliberately small soft-skills pilot, testing how practice-driven learning performs for young Afghans where access and connectivity are constrained.
A first collaboration in Afghanistan, kept small and focused.
The Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (Afghanistankomiteen, or NAC) is a member-based solidarity organisation founded in Norway in 1980. For more than four decades it has carried out development and humanitarian work in Afghanistan, spanning rural development, natural-resource management, health, and education, alongside advocacy in Norway. It runs a head office in Oslo and a country office in Kabul, and in 2024 its activities reached residents across 23 provinces, its widest footprint to date.
Learnio worked with NAC on a soft-skills pilot designed to strengthen the employability and confidence of young Afghans. The pilot was kept deliberately small, delivered with NAC focal point Hamasa Fakhri and managed on the Learnio side by Mimoza Ymeri.
As a first project in Afghanistan, it tested how Learnio's practical, exercise-driven curriculum of role-plays, simulations, self-assessment and challenge-based learning performs in a difficult context, providing a foundation for future, expanded delivery with NAC.

A basis to scale, and a follow-on already in preparation.
- A follow-on with NAC is in preparation: a Basic English Language track linked to Somaliland.
- Successful completion of the pilot creates a basis to scale soft-skills delivery to larger Afghan cohorts.
This was a soft-skills employability pilot rather than an income-generating freelancing track, so no student-earnings data is tracked.
