Overview

A natural fit for Learnio's practical, freelancing-oriented training.

The Imbeleko (Dr Seni Myeni) Foundation is a community-rooted education organisation based in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, KwaNyuswa, KwaZulu-Natal. Founded around 2010 to 2011 by twin sisters Dr Seni Myeni-Offiah and Sibusisiwe Myeni, it has grown from supporting a handful of orphaned and vulnerable children into a foundation that has reached well over 10,000 learners through education, mentorship, nutrition, digital innovation and psychosocial support.

Imbeleko's cradle-to-career continuum now includes afterschool programmes, scholarships, a hybrid academy, and, through the Imbeleko Institute, accredited training and youth internship programmes that bridge rural talent to the global economy. That makes it a natural fit for Learnio's practical, freelancing-oriented digital training.

Learnio is running a Web Development pilot with Imbeleko, led on the partner side by focal point Samkele Xaba and mentors Mcebisi Mkhize and Sthandiwe Msomi, with Mimoza Ymeri as Learnio programme manager. The pilot is currently in delivery.
