Learnio's first project in Somaliland, inside a Hargeisa innovation hub.
Learnio is running a Graphic Design pilot with Barkulan Innovation Hub, a Hargeisa coworking and innovation space and AfriLabs member, delivered through its existing community of young creatives.
A close fit with Learnio's income-oriented model.
Barkulan Innovation Hub is a coworking and innovation space based in Hargeisa, Somaliland, and a member of the pan-African AfriLabs network. Founded by Ahmed Omer, it positions itself as a leading space in Somaliland for collaboration among freelancers, startups, designers and developers, hosting events and workshops aimed at professional development and youth employment.
Learnio is running a Graphic Design pilot with Barkulan, its first project in Somaliland, with the hub acting as the local delivery partner. The project is coordinated with Ahmed Omer and mentor Hussein Omane, under Learnio programme manager Mimoza Ymeri.
Delivered through an established innovation-hub environment, the pilot benefits from Barkulan's community of young creatives and its focus on freelancing and the future of work, a close fit with Learnio's income-oriented model.
The essentials, from the Learnio projects record.
A first project that opens a door.
- As the first Learnio project in Somaliland, a successful pilot opens the door to additional tracks and larger cohorts via the hub.
- Barkulan's AfriLabs network membership offers wider regional connections for future delivery.
The pilot is ongoing. Freelancing outcomes will be assessable at completion.
